5 thoughtful ways to celebrate Mother’s Day
It’s Mother’s Day on Sunday 30 March 2025. So we’ve put together a whole host of inspiring (and some unexpected) ideas to help you spoil your mum, partner, best friend, step-mum and mums-to-be at Ealing Broadway.
Whether it’s breakfast in bed, pampering beauty ideas, family sharing lunches with grandparents too or active days out together – here are all the best ideas for Mothering Sunday (also don’t forget the clocks go forwards an hour if you book anything…).
1. The most wanted Mother’s day gifts
First of all, the basics cannot be overlooked: cards, flowers, chocolate and jewellery. Pre-order beautiful blooms from independent florist Jasmin Bloom who create gorgeous bouquets and flowers in a box so you can choose her favourites (order here).
Marks & Spencer have also launched the in-store Flower Market featuring carefully sourced and long-lasting bouquets including the Peony Kiss and Eucalyptus, £35, and colourful spring tulips. For luscious plants and pretty pots that will bring calming greenery to your bedroom, Greenka is the place to go.
For cards, head to Waterstones or encourage the kids to make their own colourful creations with art supplies from Flying Tiger Copenhagen and Poundland. Pop into the independent chocolatier Leonidas for a bespoke boxes of artisan Belgian chocolates.

For something she can treasure forever, Warren James and Accessorize have beautiful jewellery and watches or be inspired at Pandora by creating a personalised piece with the children’s names and dates of birth – they also have a gorgeous Disney collection too.

Other coveted presents for spring 2025 include: wideleg and barrel jeans, leopard-print adidas SL 72 trainers, UGG Tasmans in pale blue and butter-yellow homewares. So stop by H&M, River Island, Marks & Spencer, JD Sports, Clarks, Foot Locker, Accessorize, Decathlon and Primark.
2. Breakfast in bed…
Got little early risers? Then there’s no greater gift than some extra hours of sleep followed by a delicious breakfast in bed. Stock up on coffee, croissants, sweet treats and tasty juices at Marks & Spencer and Heriots Patisserie. For sweet treats to remember, Lola’s has a special Mother’s Day box with lemon and poppyseed, vanilla blossom and blueberry and Earl Grey flavours. Serve them up on a gorgeous tray of pretty tableware from Flying Tiger Copenhagen.

3. Mother’s Day menus: brunch and lunch
For big family sharing feasts with the kids and grandparents, book a table filled with mezze dips of humous and babaganoush, lamb shawarma, pomegranate couscous and sharing menus at Comptoir Libanais or enjoy noodles, yakitori, bao buns and miso caramel ice-cream at wagamama.
Fancy a roast with a difference? Turtle Bay do big family get-togethers Caribbean style on Sundays with menus of jerk beef, pork and chicken (plus a vegan option) with sides of roasted potatoes, greens and mac’n’cheese. There’s also kids’ menus, bottomless brunch, live music and tropical cocktails galore.
4. Family day out together
Take a trip to The Ealing Project to see Disney’s Snow White (it’s only £24 for a family of four) then go for noodles and sushi at Itsu, Wasabi and Kineya Mugimaru. Finish off with treats at Bubble Magik and Lola’s.
Or get creative and hire a PA, projector screen, ice-cream maker or games console from the Library Of Things for a fun weekend together at home. Alternatively – if you’re the outdoors types – get out and about with bikes, paddleboarding and camping equipment (depending on the weather) to hire from Decathlon.
5. Pampering beauty hampers and wellbeing ideas

For new mums-to-be gifts and beauty pampers for all, be inspired at Marks & Spencer (try their Wellbeing box featuring This Works, Dr Paw Paw and more), Primark, Boots, H&M and Superdrug. All have gorgeous boxes of vegan-friendly replenishing face masks, overnight creams and nourishing cleansers.
The Body Shop has gorgeous limited edition Mother’s Day Nourish & Flourish hampers in shea, strawberry, mango and more while Rituals recommends bestsellers including The Ritual of Sakura gift set featuring fragrance sticks and hair and body mist; scented candles and the Tiny Rituals set for new parent
For a fresh scent, look for notes of pistachio (Marks & Spencer’s Discover range has a £10 eau de toilette that beauty editors love) and classics such as Chanel Chance and Coco Mademoiselle, Miss Dior, Burberry Her, Valentino Born in Roma and Carolina Herrera Good Girl. The other most-wanted beauty bits for spring 2025 include: Sol de Janeiro Delícia Drench Shower Oil and Byoma Phyto Mucin Glow Serum. And you can’t go wrong with silk pillowcases, eye masks or an LED face mask.
Head to Boots, Rituals, H&M, Marks & Spencer, Primark and Superdrug. Or – to really win Mother’s Day points – buy her some vouchers for The Massage Company…
